AMERICAN DREAM: ANDREA BOCELLI'S STATUE OF LIBERTY CONCERT (2001)
With the Manhattan skyline, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty as a breathtaking backdrop, international tenor Andrea Bocelli fulfills a personal dream with a spectacular outdoor concert taped under the stars at New Jersey's Liberty State Park. It was the long abiding wish of Bocelli's recently deceased father to see his son perform at the Statue of Liberty. In tribute to that vision, Mr. Bocelli dedicates his performance of Sogno ("Dream") to his father.
The concert celebrates Italian heritage and musical tradition and honors the immigrant experience with this enchanting evening of famous arias, Neapolitan songs and audience favorites performed before an audience of 12,000 fans. With the memory of his father resonating in his emotional performance, Bocelli is joined by soprano Ana Maria Martinez. (00:35:44)
