THE NATION'S FAVOURITE BEATLES NUMBER ONE (2015)
Who could resist a run through of The Beatles’ greatest ever hits?
Masters of the three-minute pop song, and one of the world’s most influential bands, The Beatles have had 27 number ones here and in the US.
And this whopping two-hour marathon runs through them all in a countdown to our absolute favourite – and no, I’m not telling you what that is.
So, get comfy and settle in if you think you can dedicate your whole evening to the Fab Four. But for Beatles fans, this is an absolute treat.
But we also get to see archive footage (including the only surviving clips of them playing at Liverpool’s iconic Cavern Club), classic videos, and hear from insiders, including musicians, friends and fellow performers.
Of course, the celebrity fans chime in too, such as Sandie Shaw, David Tennant, Twiggy, Jake Bugg and Sue Johnston (who was a Cavern Club regular).
There’s even, wait for it, an unseen video! The Liverpool lads apparently got hungry while shooting the video for I Feel Fine and ordered in fish and chips. While they sat there scoffing, the producer kept the cameras rolling (while playing the track) – but the result was never released.
Their manager, Brian Epstein, didn’t want them looking too “real”.
Watch out also for astonishing footage of the fan hysteria that followed the band all the way to America – where, we are told, it was their British accents that drove the girls crazy. And there is some endearing footage of the boys just larking about.
But which song tops the poll?
