THE MAKING OF SGT. PEPPER celebrated the 25th anniversary of the creation of this ground-breaking record album, which awed and entertained millions with its innovative musical arrangements and poetic lyrics. For the first time in one programme, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr – as well as legendary producer George Martin - are all interviewed in-depth, offering their own distinct memories of events during the production of the Sgt. Pepper album. In addition, major participants to the record’s production, session musicians, album cover artists and musical commentators, present their recollections- allowing viewers a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse into the albums evolution.
The Making of Sgt. Pepper features the original recording session multi-track tapes from the album’s production, which are heard for the very first time. The creative process behind the production of such classic tunes as 'Being for The Benefit of Mr Kite', 'A Day In The Life' and George Harrison’s haunting 'Within You Without You’, are also highlighted, as well as many other distinctive songs recorded for the album project.
